Here’s some information you need to know before you go to the Summer Fete on Friday 3rd July.
Thank you to Volunteers and Staff
Many thanks to the 13 parent volunteers, the Burleigh School leadership team, teachers and staff. Without their support this event would not take place. Last year we had 28 families volunteer to support this same event. In order to safely put on an event of this scale we have had to pay for staffing support for the event. Any abuse (physical or verbal) of any volunteer, staff or attendee at the event will not be tolerated.
This event has been organized by the FABS Committee who have been planning this for months. There are many benefits to being a parent volunteer – our top 5 reasons for doing so are here. We are all in different seasons of life where the time we have to give varies. If you are able to volunteer for the Summer Fete, you will receive free entrance for your family saving over £10. Please consider joining our FABS community here to contribute and impact future plans and funding directives.
Wristbands
Pre-Sales – Save time and money
Pre-sales of wristbands are available from now until Thursday, July 2rd at 3pm via the School Gateway. To purchase, select your child’s name, go to Payments, and add your wristbands and Checkout. If you need to purchase multiple wristbands please do multiple transactions. Save money and allow the organizers to plan better by booking your wristbands today. Save time on the door by getting your wristbands in advance rather than queueing on the day.

£2 for adults and children aged 13 and over (entry and performances included)
Children 3 and under are free to enter (can play games but cannot use inflatables)
Volunteer families are free to enter (wristbands distributed prior) – please connect with the FABS organizers via WhatsApp if you are able to volunteer on Friday
On the day Sales – Prepare to queue
Wristbands will also be available on the door for £10 for children ages 4-12 (includes entry, inflatables and FABS games), £4 for adults (entry and FABS games included) and children under 3 are free to enter and welcome to play games. Everyone at the event will need a wristband to enter. Please note that you will need to queue and wait under pre-sales wristband holders have entered.
The table to purchase wristbands on the day will be closer to the Infant Building Main Office area.
Wristband distribution of pre-sales Friday via your child
If you have purchased your wristbands via the-presales they will be distributed via your child’s classroom teacher on Friday. When you collect your child after school, please ensure that you first leave the school property, put on your wristbands, and then re-enter via the event entrance near the Infant Building left hand side cabin area/ just prior to the Infant Building parking lot gates.
NOTE – You will NOT be allowed to access the event straight from school pick up – you must leave and enter through the appropriate gates to ensure the safety of all the children at the event.
Weather, Non-Uniform Day & Footwear
The weather is looking lovely and sunny – please consider your own safety in the sun – to quote the children “wrap (dress appropriately), splat (wear sun cream) and wear a hat”.
Friday is also a Non-Uniform Day to support local charity CHEXS. Please consider making a £2 donation via the School Gateway to support this cause as they enrich the school community for parents and children alike.
Inflatables require that children take off their shoes and have socks on. No bare feet will be allowed on the inflatables.
