Many thanks to all the Summer Disco Volunteers and to the Burleigh School Team for their support in putting on our first Summer Disco on Friday June 6th for the Burleigh School children.

With over 400 floral leis distributed, over 45kg of fresh cut watermelon served and 30 bunches of bananas handed out, this school disco was the largest indoor event the team had undertaken! After the success of our winter disco, we were really pleased to be able to offer another fun event for the kids to look forward to.

The FABS team in particular would like to thank the 32 parent volunteers who made this event safe and fun for all. In particular we would like to thank our parent DJ Mark who so generously donates his time to put on a great event for the kids. Our appreciation also goes out to the Burleigh School staff and leadership team for their support in putting on this event for all of the children. We’d also like to thank our school Site Manager Billy, our school caretaker Ms. DiZenzo and the school kitchen team who helped guide us in the use of the facilities and provided their support in making our events sustainable and environmentally conscious. We were able to recycle soft and hard plastics as well as dispose of our food waste in a responsible way.

We hope that all the children had a lovely time at the disco and enjoyed their party leis. We’ve very much looking forward to our Summer Fete next month on Friday July 4th! Please reach out to the FABS committee if you’d like to get involved in volunteering, having a stall or providing a raffle prize for the Summer Fete here.

Friendly reminder that all the proceeds from this year’s events are going towards our £10k fundraising target to support outdoor education at the school. Please consider joining FABS and attending our AGM meetings next year to help vote and decide how we are run and where our future donations will go.
