Your children need your help in order to put on a school Summer Fete this year. FABS is looking to bring back our annual Summer Fete this year – scheduled for after school on Friday, July 4th from 3:30pm – and we need parent volunteers in order to make it a success! We’re looking for a minimum of 5 parents from each classroom or 10 per year group in order to make this work.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles including:
- helping ensure we have a safe environment for our children
- checking tickets and wristbands on entry/ exit
- maintaining a safe flow of kids on inflatables
- running games on stalls like Hook A Duck or Toy Tombola
- selling raffle tickets
- first aid monitoring
- food and beverage sales
- food and beverage catering support
We’re asking for this volume of volunteers so that parents/guardians can spend half of the event volunteering and the other half enjoying the event with their families. We suggest that a buddy system with another family may help accommodate both childcare and supporting the event. Or please feel free to encourage your child to also help and assist you in your adult duties at a level that is age-appropriate.

This total of 70 volunteers represents only about 10% of our total parent/ guardian population for the school. The 2024 Summer Fete was cancelled due to lack of support and we want to ensure this time honored tradition carries on to continue to make memories for our kids.
Summer Fete Stalls will also shortly go on sale – please contact us if you have a local business that would like to participate as a stall at our event.
We are also starting to collect Raffle prizes – if you or your business has a raffle prize that you’d like to contribute in exchange for advertising to our FABS and Burleigh School community, please contact us.
